What have we learnt so far about Instagram marketing?

It has been about a month since we have started this website, we have posted a lot of information for everyone to see but, they are not organized in the best way possible. So, let us look back for a bit at what we have learnt so far, especially on Instagram.


In March, we talked about the basics of creating Instagram and the generic content that you can start with.


1. Filling in all the necessary details of your business in the Instagram profile is the first and most important step. This information will give your consumers an overview of your business that helps them understand your business in an instant, thus it needs to be concise and straight to the point

2. Use Hashtags in all your posts to increase the chance of your post being discovered in the fields related to your business

As you start to gain followers who will engage with your posts, it is important to reciprocate the interaction. You can start planning contents that involves your consumers.


1. If any of your customers tagged your account after visiting the café, acknowledge their post and thank them for sharing the café. Interacting with your customer builds positive feelings in the relationship with them as it shows that you care about their opinions.

2. You can also encourage your customers to take pictures of their orders and post it on Instagram. It can even be a way to introduce promotions to dining at your café.

3. Visits and reviews from influencers are also another way to attract attention from your consumers. Having a trustworthy influencer to review and post pictures of your café increases the positive image of your café as it has been endorsed by opinion leaders.

4. Most importantly, to get your consumers to post pictures of their orders, the design and aesthetics of the dishes must be Instagram worthy for everyone admire at the post.

5. The Instagram story which allows you to post 5-10s of video content is another great way to categorize some of your contents and provide snippets of your business.

Participating in activities or campaigns that aligns with the value of your business contributes to helping your consumers understand purpose of your business.
