What is content marketing?
It is strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing value, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience – and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action
Being valuable and relevant is important
Facebook marketing is like building your own brand. Your brand needs to become best at solving problems and helping customers to make better decisions. Hence, to do so, you must be informative, entertaining and creative.
Take this post by St Ali as an example. They are promoting coffee made by their employee and buying their coffee has a meaning behind it as they are helping with bushfire relief in Australia back at the start of 2020 when bushfire was a rampant natural disaster happening in rural parts of Australia. They were being informative about the current situation in Australia and creative by providing consumers a way to contribute to the cause and at the same time consume their coffee, spread the name of their café.
Next, to create consistent content that will attract customers, you can incorporate a storyline into the content you post. Tell a short story with the pictures you post. This is because story leaves an impression on your customers. By sharing what your café, your employees or even your customers have done, People who visit your page will form an image and understand of the values and brand behind your café. Once again, using St Ali’s as an example.
In this post, the café is also contributing to the world where everyone is currently facing the COVID-19 pandemic. They told a short story of their employee, about how they transitioned into temporary healthcare production line to assist the world in production and packaging and how they are creating a fun and cheery atmosphere amongst the grim situation. They even included a video to better illustrate the story which is a brilliant way to show the authenticity of their story!
In this post, an employee of St Ali’s had participated in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. While all the knowledge maybe too technical for the general public but it has shown that they have employees who are passionate in coffee making and this would mean that there is a guaranteed quality in their beverage making. This reassures potential new consumers who wants to try out their café.
In summary, the St Ali café focuses on delivering meaningful content where they aim to give back to the community and show their consumers that they are passionate in coffee making with a professional barrister in the restaurant. Thus, it can be inferred that the café is attempting to attract helpful/altruistic consumers and coffee-lovers.
